Why hire a coach for company anniversaries?
It's Monday, October 17, 2022: Nora Gunske, Accounting Manager, is sitting in the conference room at the headquarters in Hamburg. She answers questions about her career, her training company and how she became an important member of agt.
Interviewer: Thank you, Nora, for taking the time today. Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Nora: My name is Nora Gunske, I grew up near Hamburg and still live there today. I am 27 years old, have a daughter and agt is my training company.
Interviewer: How long have you been part of agt?
Nora: I started my apprenticeship as an office management assistant in February 2017. My apprenticeship lasted two and a half years, which I was fortunately able to shorten by six months. In 2019, I moved to the accounting department, where I worked with authorized signatory and department head Lizaveta Casper. I completed my training here at the beginning of 2020, specializing in financial accounting. I used the corona period for further training as a payroll accountant, which I successfully completed within 5 months. Since then, I have been part of the same team and am very happy with my current position as Accounting Manager.
Interviewer: An admirable achievement! What are your activities in accounting?
Nora: My tasks vary every day. In general, I check the invoices that our sales employees have prepared for accuracy. If they have been processed correctly, I sign them off and release them to the sales staff. I post incoming and outgoing invoices and make various payments. I also manage the company's credit cards.

Career paths in accounting
Interviewer: Many people find working in accounting monotonous. How would you describe the work?
Nora: I admit that some tasks can become monotonous, such as posting invoices. However, there are still varied tasks in accounting, such as creating key figures for suppliers and partner companies. Based on these important key figures, each company can be better analyzed and evaluated by us. We also have a lot of contact with tax agencies and we take care of controlling. This includes recording, evaluating, analyzing and aggregating accounting data. As you can see, many areas are part of the mandatory area of accounting. So I don't think the job is monotonous.
Interviewer: That sounds like a lot of exciting and important tasks. What do you enjoy most about this professional field?
Nora: Honestly? That I know a lot of internal information about the company and am entrusted with a lot. This makes it easier and more fun to work out a company valuation. I also prefer everything to do with salaries: from checking commission statements to recording hours for payroll, everything fascinates me.
Interviewer: Do you have any tips for people who are interested in financial accounting or agt as a training company?
Nora: Don't be put off by the fact that it seems monotonous and dry! We have a lot of fun in accounting, even if it doesn't seem that way. We are a really great team in the company.
Interviewer: Nora, my last and most important question: What do you wish for in your future career at agt and where do you see yourself in five years?
Nora: I hope that I can continue to develop in the same way as I was allowed to in previous years. I am very grateful to agt for that. I see myself with my Bachelor's degree in five years' time. It has to go on and on! As a training company, agt strives every day to support its trainees and turn them into high-flyers, and I admire that about my employer.
