The castle has been casting a spell of horror over visitors since 1977. Contrary to what many people think, however, this is not the place where Mary Shelly's horror story of the same name is set, but merely serves as a namesake.
With its spectacular shows, terrifying monsters and gruesome crypts, Frankenstein Castle always attracts hundreds of visitors on Halloween. The castle, which is over a thousand years old, offers an intense experience behind its walls and ruins on over 3,000 m2 that will definitely get your pulse racing.
KaDeWe Berlin
The Kaufhaus des Westens, or KaDeWE for short, is probably the best-known department store in Germany. For over 100 years, the department store has been selling upmarket and luxury goods and attracts customers from all over the world. At the end of October, the department store is transformed into a sophisticated party location and hosts a big Halloween party together with champagne producer Pommery.
The dress code is simple: dress up as your favorite horror movie character! The event promises plenty of champagne as well as culinary delights. This includes an oyster bar and other maritime specialties served by the in-house fish restaurant.
Halloween party ship 2024
In a party mood? Then you might want to consider the Halloween Party Ship in Hamburg on Halloween 2024. After last year's successful debut, the organizers want to go one better and are calling for the second edition of the ship party on the Elbe. On October 26, a few days before the official Halloween, impatient spooky fans will be able to shake a leg to the finest hits from the last 30 years.
Naturally, the ship is decorated for the occasion, which is also expected of the guests. The opportunity for spooky fans to slip into their costumes and show off their best make-up skills. And the best thing is: thanks to the time change, you can party an hour longer at night.
Heide Park Resort
From October 14 to 31, the spooky season will be celebrated at Heide Park Resort near Soltau. The largest theme park in northern Germany guarantees its visitors a memorable Halloween stay. Naturally, Heide Park will be dressed in its spookiest and most beautiful outfit and will delight visitors with appropriate decorations and lighting.
There is a large medieval market, various scary shows and attractions such as stilt walkers, live scare actors and mazes, such as the Subterra, where guests have the opportunity to explore the underground of the Heide Park. The whole experience is rounded off by delicious food trucks and trick-or-treat rallies. The Heide Park Resort and hotels also cater for a multi-day stay in Lower Saxony and allow guests to explore the surrounding heath with its magnificent nature at their leisure. In 2023, Heide Park won several awards for its Halloween concept.
Movie Park Germany
Movie Park Germany in Bottrop not only offers the finest Hollywood feeling, but also plenty of horror! Between October and November, Movie Park shows its darkest side and transforms into Horrorwood. The Movie Park's Halloween Horror Festival offers a total of eight horror houses where things will definitely get spooky.
Europapark
Europapark in Rust is one of the largest and most popular theme parks in Europe, welcoming millions of guests to its gates every year. During the colorful season, the Europapark is transformed into a sea of decorative pumpkins, autumnal flowering plants, bales of straw and fascinating light installations at night. This creates the perfect atmosphere for the diverse program of events at Europapark.
In addition to special shows especially for the fall and Halloween season, the theme park's various attractions also provide plenty of scares. For example, the "Niflheim" creepy house promises a fright or two.
