For the second year running, Telekom is transforming Cologne into the city of the future. As a long-standing service provider and mobility partner of the telecoms giant, the request is dealt with swiftly at the headquarters of the agency for global transport.
Digital X: 12 shuttle buses – 4 bus partnerships – 3 locations – 70,000 people.
On 13 and 14 September 2022, Deutsche Telekom AG is hosting Digital X in Cologne. 70,000 visitors will be welcomed this year and will have the chance to discuss the topic of digitalisation with around 300 speakers. Cologne city centre will be divided into four districts with 15 stages, but venues, shops and pop-up shops will also be hired for the event, serving as hubs for visitors to attend smaller expert talks and as meeting spots for networking. Here, guests were able to gain valuable insights, get to know start-ups or listen to success stories, such as those of Jessica Alba, actress and founder of The Honest Company, and Steve ‘The Woz’ Wozniak, co-founder of Apple.
Sales Manager Janina Winkler is in charge of the project and of bus coordination in the cathedral city. The team is complemented by the two trainees, Sevin Algünerhan and Julius Dere. The trainees’ understanding of bus coordination as a service is to be developed through training.
One day before the fair begins, the bus stops are inspected and final briefings are given to the team and the bus drivers. New roadworks, relocated public transport stops or diversions can disrupt the plans of the bus coordination team. Carrying out checks on public roads is just as much a part of the service as coordinating regular shuttle departures.
