Coach trip to the Alps with driver
The Alps stretch across eight countries, from France and Monaco to Slovenia. For groups from Germany, the main options are the Bavarian Alps, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol, and several of them can be combined in one trip. agt is a coach charter agency. We organise all passenger transport for companies and groups, with one point of contact for everything – always with a driver.
More than 1,500 partner operators across Europe
From this network, we plan vehicle and driver to suit group size, route and programme, for a day trip to Lake Königssee as well as a multi-day group tour through Tyrol. As a rule, buses and drivers are provided by our partner operators. We include backup plans in case of breakdowns.
Individually planned
We clarify route, breaks, overnight stops and vehicle class before sending the quote. In the Alps, this also covers border crossings, toll sections and the timetables of mountain railways and boats. That way, the costing matches the actual itinerary.

What makes trips to the Alps different
Long journeys, fixed driving times
Coach drivers are subject to fixed driving and rest times. After 4.5 hours at the wheel at the latest, a 45-minute break is mandatory, and daily driving time is usually limited to 9 hours. From Munich or Stuttgart, many destinations can be planned as a day trip. For journeys from northern or western Germany, we check whether a second driver or an overnight stop en route is needed. We schedule breaks to fit your programme.
Winter equipment and winter closures
In Austria, coaches must have winter tyres on at least one drive axle from 1 November to 15 March and carry snow chains from 1 November to 15 April. High Alpine roads such as the Grossglockner High Alpine Road are closed in winter, and the Kehlsteinhaus is only open in the summer half of the year. For winter trips, we allow extra time and plan the route around closed roads.
Not every destination can be reached by coach
Zermatt is car-free. For visitors, the road ends in Täsch, five kilometres before the village; from there, the shuttle train takes twelve minutes. Only special buses run up to the Kehlsteinhaus from the Obersalzberg car park. Coaches can only enter Hallstatt with a booked slot. We build such transfers and registrations into the itinerary.
Tolls and charges differ from country to country
Which rule applies depends on the vehicle's weight. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes need a vignette in Austria and Switzerland. In Germany, coaches are exempt from the HGV toll. In Austria, vehicles over 3.5 tonnes pay a distance-based toll on motorways and expressways, with higher rates on sections such as the Brenner and the Tauern Tunnel. In Switzerland, coaches pay a flat-rate heavy vehicle charge for each day in the country instead of the vignette. We include these items in the costing.
