Interviewer: You like to plan. Surely that helped you in your career path?
Debby: Totally. Before my training, I wasn't nearly as structured as I am now. The training period at agt definitely shaped me.
Interviewer: Your title is “Key Account Credit Controller”. What can one imagine under that?
Debby: My tasks include the management of the largest online retailer. I am also mainly responsible for the invoicing system of the key account customers. This also includes checking the invoices and the costs for our orders.
Interviewer: What should an applicant or already an apprentice for the event manager job consider when you look at the skills?
Debby: One should have logical thinking skills, and if one has experience with Excel, that is also an advantage. In terms of soft skills, one should bring endurance and enough drive.
Interviewer: Drive is the keyword for you. You have already had a steep career at agt at a young age. What has been your greatest success so far??
Debby: During the training period, every trainee is given the task of planning an event completely independently. You can even choose your own team. I was tasked with planning a corporate event for our client with the theme of Oktoberfest. Everything went according to plan and our client was delighted with the smooth process. That's when I realized for myself that I am very satisfied with my performance and happy that the client and his guests are also pleased.
Interviewer: That sounds like a lot of work. A saying goes ‘The years of training are not master years!’. Does this apply to you?
Debby: At agt, it's like this: if it is seen that you are committed and your ideas are well thought out, you are offered the chance to advance. I am also no exception. At agt, everyone is treated equally and everyone is listened to. That's why I knew very quickly that I wanted to be taken on after the training. The working climate is just cool.
Interviewer: Was there something you particularly liked during the training?
Debby: There are good benefits like a subsidy for the HVV ticket, many excursions, and company parties.
Interviewer: You're still quite young; can you imagine working in this job forever?
Debby: I know that I want to eventually switch to the wedding industry because that is where my skills and interests overlap. The good thing is that the wedding sector at agt is currently being expanded and growing strongly. As mentioned earlier, as an employee at agt, you get the chance to develop both professionally and personally. This would be my future vision. But I am also very satisfied with my current position.
Interviewer: Thank you, Debby, and I think we got a great insight into your career at agt!
