AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik begins environmental partnership with UPHH

During 2021, AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik was recognized as an active environmental partner of the UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg. AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik feels committed to the idea of sustainability as a company. We express this in our daily actions and thinking and within this framework, as a service provider in passenger and event logistics, we focus primarily on environmental and health protection as well as social and ecological procurement along our entire value chain.

One of the pillars of AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik’s internal quality management is the introduction of standards that further increase sustainability in all areas. Since 2018, we have been undergoing continuous improvement in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 certification via TÜV Süd. In the course of the sustainable further development of the company, AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik 2022 successfully introduced the environmental management standard ISO 14001:2015 and the ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety, which support the philosophy of UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg and that of AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik. Now AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik has three cooperating management systems that make internal and external processes more efficient.

UPHH: UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg as a link between economy, ecology and social issues

The UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg is an institution for the promotion of voluntary corporate environmental protection and was formed in Hamburg by the Hamburg Senate in 2003. The network currently consists of around 1250 Hamburg companies and service providers from various industries and company sizes (as of February 2022). Environmental services are provided on a voluntary basis and active efforts are made to grow in climate and environmental protection in line with UPHH’s philosophy. The commitment of each company goes beyond the legal requirements. Together with the sponsors of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts, the Port of Hamburg e. V. and the Industrieverband Hamburg e. V., the UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg supports companies in implementing possible measures. After all, companies play an enormously important role when it comes to achieving Hamburg’s environmental and climate protection goals. The consultations by the sponsors of the UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg, usually take place on site in the respective company of the enterprise. The subsidies and measures are determined and tailored specifically to the needs of the company. In this way, specific energy and resource consumption can be identified and reduced, and optimum material and raw material efficiency can be achieved.

corporate environmental goals are attractive for employees

In terms of corporate sustainability, we are guided by the three-pillar model conceived in 1990, which has served as the standard in the field of environmental protection since it was mentioned in the Treaty of Amsterdam in 1997. The three pillars – ecology, economy and social issues – are considered to be of equal importance on an economic, corporate and political level. AGT Bus- & Eventlogistik, as a member of the UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg, uses this model and has strongly anchored it in its corporate goals.

It is also the objective of UPHH, with a growing number of cooperation partners, to make a contribution to the worldwide protection of the climate and the environment. This improves the quality of life globally as well as locally and has become a decisive factor when looking for a job nowadays. In a survey conducted by the comparison platform, 35.1% of all respondents stated that environmental protection and sustainability are a decisive factor when choosing a job.
