The career day - discussions and follow-up
The day of the trade fair itself began with loading the van with trade fair equipment. The trade fair crew then set off for the edel-optics.de Arena in Wilhelmsburg. With just under 60 exhibitors, Karrieretag Hamburg offers an optimal selection of companies, but in a manageable size that makes it easy to remember the visitors. The trade fair crew defined a clear goal in advance: To make a professional and personable impression on visitors to the Hamburg Careers Day. The doors to the hall open at 10:00 a.m. and the team is ready to warmly welcome the arriving guests and hand out flyers.
The audience at the Hamburg Career Day is diverse, consisting of people looking for training, career changers and experienced professionals who want to make initial contacts and convince potential employers. An application portfolio check, professional application photos and presentations of current job vacancies made it possible to get to know each other more quickly if required. The 8-person agt team, consisting of 2 HR managers, 2 trainees, 2 marketers and 2 sales experts, welcomed potential applicants to the stand and learned a lot about the visitors' ideas, career paths and goals.
The edel-optics.de arena fills up as the day progresses and numerous interviews take place at our stand. The CVs of interested candidates end up in the hands of our HR specialists, and particularly well-suited candidates have short interviews on site. Both sides get to know each other better in these interviews, and some applicants are so enthusiastic that they want to submit their applications immediately afterwards.
For the second time, we proudly presented ourselves at the careers day. This fair in the Harburg district is of particular importance to us, as our company has its origins in this district and we have always promoted young talent. The Hamburg Careers Day was a complete success. In addition to an exciting target group and many valuable contacts, we were able to significantly strengthen the brand awareness and image of our company. Planning for the next Careers Day is already in full swing. We hope to attract many talented young people to agt in the future. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, it is crucial to discover young talent at an early stage and retain them in our company.
